An image is the fastest way to agree on a feeling. We make it first, before names and before plans, because a whole team can stand in front of it and point. It holds the colour, the weather and the mood of everything that follows.

What an art studio doesChapter I
I.
Every project starts in the archive: paintings, film stills, paper, the odd thing that keeps coming back. We read a brand the way a curator reads a room.
II.
One image leads. The rest answer it. Sound, type and motion are placed around that first image until the whole room says one thing.
III.
Then the doors open: a site, a film, a campaign. People walk in at their own pace, and the work keeps moving after they leave.

Film is an image that has decided to keep going. We use the same still as the first frame, so the world carries over whole. The camera walks in, the light turns, and the brand gains a place you can remember.
Letters are the part of a brand people touch most. We set them large, let them arrive line by line, and give them the same care as the art. On a good page the words are part of the hang.
